Senior Finance Manager

Job Description:

Our client, a boutique insurance/finance firm located in New York City and dedicated to providing ultra-high-net-worth individuals with the proper life and annuity investment opportunities, seeks to hire a Senior Finance Manager . This position will allow the incumbent to impact the firm immediately.

The Senior Finance Manager will help guide the firm's strategic, financial, and accounting functions. This position requires a hands-on, creative professional who is interested in and able to contribute as an individual contributor and leader of the firm.

Some Responsibilities include:

  • Execution and oversight of Accounting Operations and development of new/better processes and procedures.
  • Provide financial analysis on the firm’s financials, including revenue, profits, trends, expenses, and budgets.
  • Develop and maintain all necessary accounting policies and systems, including general ledger and financial reporting.
  • Assist senior management and the Founding Principal in financial planning and results management.
  • Work with senior management on the strategic direction and financial planning of the firm.
  • Generation of financial reports throughout the year.
  • Treasury and cash flow management.
  • Special projects.

    Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business. CPA, CMA, and/or MBA are a plus.
  • Must have 5+ years of experience in a financial management role at an insurance or financial services industry-related entity.
  • 3+ years of managerial accounting and financial management experience.
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online, etc. Knowledge of commission tracking tools is a plus.
  • Experience working in a growing business or start-up.
  • Superior management skills and ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Proven track record of success in facilitating progressive development within a growing organization.
