Job Description:

A fast-growing Westport, CT, home healthcare company is seeking a full-time Financial Controller who is bright, experienced, and personable. The ideal candidate must have a take-charge attitude, be organized, have excellent time management skills, and be dedicated and motivated as we grow from our current size to the middle market in the next couple of years. The right candidate will help improve operations and have the bandwidth to advance with the company as it grows.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Lead the organization in accounting and be GAAP compliant
  • Lead the organization to improve processes and systems to make routine operations more efficient
  • Manage relationships with clients, caregivers, and employees so that accounting operations function smoothly as we scale
  • Supervise and inspire the staff of two direct reports - a bookkeeping assistant and an LTC insurance administrator
  • Create reports, share insights, and participate in the strategy of the company

    Hands-on routine work
  • Weekly and bi-weekly payroll
  • Invoicing to clients
  • Accounts Receivable and cash management
  • Vendor management, AP to 30 vendors, and cost control
  • Monthly credit card reconciliation
  • Maintain insurance, licenses, medical insurance, and 401K
  • Monthly / Quarterly sales tax filings

  • $100,000-125,000 base salary/year depending on experience and education
  • Up to $25,000/year in quarterly bonuses based on individual and company performance, as well as inclusion in our long-term incentive plans

  • PTO - 3 weeks of paid vacation, five personal days, and seven holidays

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance from a reputable university
  • 3-10 years of relevant professional experience
  • Must have strong time management, problem-solving, analytics, and interpersonal skills
  • Must be extremely data savvy, detail-oriented, and focused
  • QuickBooks experience is a plus
