Small Westport, Ct company looking to hire a temp to perm Accounts Payable Coordinator position.
Job Title: Accounts Payable Coordinator
Job Description/Responsibilities:
The Accounts Payable Coordinator is responsible for managing the accounts payable process for the Company, its affiliates and the related investment funds.

The responsibilities include the following:

  • Organize vendor invoices and distribute to the appropriate manager for approval
  • Work closely with the accounting group to properly code the expenses
  • Input approved invoices into the accounting system, submit weekly payable reports to controller
  • Submit wire requests for approval, record approved electronic payments in GL
  • Post approved payable batched in GL, print and mail paper checks
  • Prepare and process monthly American Express statements (3 accounts, multiple card holders)
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure timely processing of vendor invoices by location
  • Assist with processing property draw requests
  • Submit quarterly sales tax reports for approval
  • Maintain relationships with vendors, including follow-up with any issues
  • Maintaining electronic and paper files, including annual preparation and shipment of paper files to the outside storage
  • Annual 1099 preparation
  • Administrative support for accounting group as needed
  • Assist controller with monthly and quarterly close process
  • Assist with annual audit and tax returns
  • Assist with annual property level budget reviews

Requirements:

Experience:
  • 5+ years of relevant Accounting and/or Bookkeeping experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Office and QuickBooks
  • Knowledge of Yardi systems is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills is a must, candidate must be detail oriented and able to effectively balance work assignments in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    Compensation:
  • Salary $65 - $75K base, discretionary bonus eligible
