Housekeeper

A Great Housekeeper/Cook opportunity to live in 3 days/week in Manhattan (8 months) & Greenwich (4 months) in a lovely private residence. (Live-in is required 4 nights a week)Manhattan, NY, Greenwich CT Must have at least 10+ years of recent experience working for a private home!Responsibilities include but not limited to:STAIRCASE: polish brass banister once a week and/or as needed.LIBRARY: vacuum, dust, polish silver and brassLIVING ROOM: vacuum, dust, polish furnitureDINING ROOM: vacuum and dust clean mirrorsGYM: Remove and replenish Poland spring bottles. Remove the blue plastic tab from bottles left on the windowsill, remove used Kleenex and any other garbage, and clean the floor, window ledges, and mirrors as needed.GUEST BATHROOM: Clean floor, toilet, sink, mirrors, and counter as needed; replenish toilet paper, guest hand towels, and soap as required; toilet seat lid is kept closed always.STAFF BATHROOM: 3 times per week: sanitize floor, toilet, bathtub, sink, vanity mirror.LAUNDRY & IRONING: when needed and done between your other daily responsibilities.GUEST BEDROOM: Vacuum and dust, clean and iron bed linens, writing pads, post-its, and pens next to each nightstand, check that light bulbs work in swing arm lamps & desk, and kleenex caddies are filled.GUEST BATHROOM: once a week: clean floor, toilet, sink, mirrors, and sink counter and vanity as needed; replenish toilet paper, bath towels, and soap as needed (toilet seat lid is always closed: this cleaning takes place daily when a guest is staying here)SITTING ROOM: vacuum and dust. Keep counters clear and tidyHALLWAY: vacuum, clean glass on framed photographsMEDIA ROOM: Vacuum and dust, dust lacquered walls, sofa cushions, and pillow to be fluffed as neededMEDIA BATHROOM: three(3) times per week: sanitize floor, toilet, bathtub, sink, vanity mirror, replace linen guest towels as neededWATER PLANTS, ORCHIDS, ETC. AS NEEDED, USUALLY ONCE A WEEKYOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE GENERAL MAINTENANCE OF THE FOLLOWING APPLIANCES. If they need repair or have missing parts, you are to inform the assistant to the lady of the house immediately:

• WASHER & DRYER
• IRON & IRONING BOARD
• 2 CLOTHES STEAMER
• PREDATORS: CHANGE FILTERS AS NEEDED. Put the Date on the Filter when it was changed
• HEPA AIR PURIFIERS: Same as above
• MAINTENANCE OF SEWING BASKETS AND ALL THEIR CONTENTS

MUST STEP INTO ANY POSITION: • When that staff person has a day off, illness, or is on vacation. • When a staff person goes on break, another staffer must assume their position and • Not leave the work for when the other staffer returns from their break
