Engineer

Job Description:

The prospective candidate will be ingrained with most aspects of the craft, including, but not limited to, Material Planning, Inventory Management, Procurement, and Transportation. Initial responsibilities will include planning of sub-assemblies, identifying shortages, negotiating, and procuring catalog and manufactured materials used in the production of the client products, as well as being a member of the Inventory Management Team.

In addition to displaying highly ethical conduct, this person must have key negotiating skills and the ability to source materials from approved vendors. Key Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include taking Strategic Demand communicated from Senior Management/ Marketing and identifying Material shortages for procurement based on Production Planning guidance.
  • Creating purchase order requisitions for Buyers to convert in support of the production planning schedule while calculating annual usage and maintenance of item lead times.
  • Process outside service orders
  • Member of the Inventory team
  • Maintain a neat and organized work area,
  • Quote, place, track, and expedite orders, when necessary, through receiving
  • Track supplier On-time delivery
  • Maintain and monitor hardware KANBAN.
  • Other Duties- Any reasonable task requested by the company.

    General Tasks

  • Ability to be proactive and plan materials based on consumption using good judgment and historical analysis to balance cash flow and purchase price.
  • Creatively form and implement strategies that will aggressively balance Inventory and consumption, i.e., using Blanket Purchases as much as possible.

    Requirements:

    Job Requirements and Qualifications

    Education: (or equivalent years of experience)

  • College degree: Business degree preferred.

    Experience:
  • Three to five years of manufacturing or warehouse environments

    Knowledge Requirements

  • Strong Microsoft skills; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to learn and exploit the ERP system.
