Client Onboarding, VP
Job Description:
A leading global hedge fund in lower Connecticut seeks a Vice President of Client Onboarding to join its Operations team. This individual will manage complex onboarding events and serve as a key contact point across internal teams and external stakeholders. The role requires strong project management, client service, and operational expertise, particularly within equity and derivative markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage onboarding-related events including account launches, terminations, strategy changes, custody/administrator transitions, and market openings
- Oversee account openings and related documentation, coordinating with brokers and service providers
- Serve as liaison across internal teams (Legal, Operations, Trading, Technology, etc.) and external partners
- Lead client meetings and firmwide calls related to onboarding initiatives
- Utilize proprietary systems and tools to track, manage, and enhance onboarding processes
- Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and scalability
- Manage long-term projects with multiple stakeholders
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 6–8 years of experience in a client onboarding role within a bank or investment manager
- Strong operations background; hedge fund experience preferred
- Solid product knowledge in equities and derivatives (OTC, FX, etc.)
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Excel and SQL
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
