Legal Secretary
Job Description:
Premier law firm, conveniently located on the Norwalk/Westport border, seeks an experienced Trusts and Estates (T&E) and Corporate Administrative Assistant to support several attorneys. Candidates must possess good judgment, be consistently accurate and detail-oriented, and communicate well with all levels of management and staff.
Trusts & Estates Responsibilities include:
- Prepare T&E document packets for before and after signings (printing, binding, electronic copies)
- Assist with client signings and scheduling
- Will Vault maintenance for existing and new clients
- Edit documents as requested by the attorney
- Communicate directly with clients on various matters
Corporate Responsibilities include:
Support several attorneys with administrative duties, including typing/formatting documents, transcribing documents (dictation), and maintaining client files.
- Schedule and coordinate conference calls. Arrange meetings and appointments.
- Enter attorney time into the billing system.
- Prepare a new client set up, which will include preparing conflict checks, new file set up, and establishing new client/matter information in the computer system
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of law firm experience
- Corporate law experience preferred, transactional experience a plus
- Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint)
- Proficient with editing PDFs
- Experience with corporate and T&E documents preferred
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, reliable, and able to multitask
- Should be flexible, willing to take on all tasks, big and small
- Must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality
- CT Notary Public (preferred)
- Office hours 8:30 am - 5:00 pm with one hour for lunch, or 9:00 am - 5:00 pm with ½ hour for lunch.
Salary Range: $65,000 to $72,000, commensurate with experience
