Job Description:

Role and Responsibilities
The Production Planner/Expeditor will coordinate daily production requirements across all levels of the organization while maintaining the flow of materials to production to ensure orders ship on time. You will work with the management team to meet production deadlines and schedules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • To achieve sales goals, the Production Planner/Expeditor will create and maintain daily schedules and priorities for assigned production lines.
  • Attending production planning meetings to communicate production expectations or challenges.
  • Communicate with customer service and update availability dates on customer orders, which may include expediting orders and re-scheduling production.
  • Review daily “Negative OH Inventory” report and assist in cycle counting of physical inventory for materials and products related to assigned production lines.
  • Create intercompany transfers and corresponding transfers.
  • Serves as a daily point of contact and liaison with Customer Service, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production departments to coordinate sales orders status, completion dates, or delays.
  • Convert and release production orders in the ERP system to maximize the availability of products to meet confirmed ship dates and inventory goals and exceed service goals while optimizing equipment and plant utilization.
  • Maintain 100% accuracy of the ERP scheduling tracker system and relate MRP elements to communication that is clear to all users.
  • Understand the flow of raw materials and product movement in production and storage areas to increase efficiency over time through sequencing of production orders.

    Requirements:

    Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • HS Diploma required.
  • NetSuite Experience
  • Technical or manufacturing training is strongly recommended.
  • Experience in production planning is essential.
  • 2-3 years of manufacturing experience with a strong preference for those with group leader or supervisory experience.

    Able to work in a fast-paced, sometimes extremely demanding environment with inflexible deadlines.

    Technical Skills
  • Advanced computer skills such as record keeping, label making, inventory management, and form filing.
