Financial Analyst

Job Description:

Our client is an independent firm that serves as a guide and service platform for ultra-affluent individuals seeking to effectively navigate the sophisticated and financially powerful applications of life insurance and annuity investment accounts. They are a fast-growing start-up based in New York City looking for motivated, agile, and detail-oriented individuals to help us build and scale the organization. We focus on two value-creating activities: Traditional Life Insurance and Private Placement Life Insurance (PPLI).

We are currently supporting them in their search for a Financial Analyst.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Record commission income payments from insurance carriers and obtain associated compensation statements.
  
• Reconcile commission payments received versus expected and perform follow-up to collect expected revenue when necessary.
  
• Administer revenue-sharing arrangements with related business and external parties.
  
• Review new life insurance policy contracts and illustrations for key financial data related to preparing long-term revenue projections.
  
• Record expense transactions and maintain invoice recordkeeping.
  
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and perform general ledger reviews.
  

  Requirements:

• BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or other analytical discipline
  
• 1-2 years of related experience
  
• Strong analytical skills and an understanding of accounting processes
  
• Proficient in MS Office
