Job Description:

Position Summary:
The Total Rewards/Benefits Manager will oversee the compliance and administration of all the company’s total rewards programs while serving as the go-to compensation & benefits expert. You MUST have 7-10 yearss expertise in employment laws and benefits. You will be instrumental in ensuring our total rewards programs and tools are crafted to attract, reward, and retain top talent. Reporting to the Global Head of People Operations, the Benefits Manager will leverage data-driven insights that facilitate the design of innovative, cost-effective, and market-competitive programs.

Day-to-day responsibilities would include a combination of the following:

  • Assist in the development and manage the execution of a competitive total rewards strategy to include compensation, health and welfare benefits, 401k, paid time off programs, and other reward & recognition programs that are cost-effective and consistent with trends and organizational objectives.
  • Manage the annual compensation process to include salary planning, salary adjustments, internal equity reviews and promotions; provide guidance and develop creative solutions on a variety of compensation matters, including the setting of appropriate pay grades & FLSA status, defining and implementing salary structure ranges based on market data and position leveling.
  • Evaluate, redesign, and administer health and welfare, retirement, and leave benefit programs, including negotiating with insurance carriers and vendors, handling broker and vendor relationships, supervising annual renewals and leading open enrollment, to increase the effectiveness and impact of programs while ensuring coordination and understanding of programs and compliance with state/federal regulations.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive and effective compensation & benefits communication strategies and trainings; build & maintain content for employees and candidates; serve as subject matter expert and escalation point to employees and managers for all total reward programs and aligned information systems.
  • Ensure adequate processes, controls, compliance reviews, and audits (including 401(k), Form 5500, etc.) are in place and are completed successfully for compensation and benefits programs; utilize job descriptions to perform FLSA audits in compliance with federal and state regulations to ensure proper classification of positions.
  • Establish, build, and maintain dashboards and reporting mechanisms to measure key compensation, benefits, and engagement data/metrics which inform total rewards program effectiveness and identify trends; analyze data and prepare reports as necessary for the Head of People Operations, Executive Team, and other leadership across the organization.
  • Prepare and manage compensation and benefits program documents, including SOPs, policies, procedures, forms/templates, etc.; ensuring compliance requirements are met as well as record keeping accuracy.
  • Oversee, administer, and process leaves and accommodation requests in accordance with state and federal law and maintaining accurate records and data integrity.
  • Oversee, review and audit payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance across multiple states and internationally
  • Oversee annual benchmarking process and support all compensation planning processes in
    collaboration with the Head of People and business leaders, ensuring efficiency in process and data
    integrity.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all compliance-related regulations including, but not limited to ERISA, FMLA, FLSA, PPACA, COBRA, ADA, HIPAA and Workers Comp
  • Oversee all ACA reporting and keep abreast of regulatory changes affecting benefit plans and ensures company benefit plans and practices comply with external regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee semi-annual performance review process, ensuring all timelines are met effective & timely communication is provided, and training is developed as needed.
  • Evaluate the compensation landscape to understand and learn from best practices through benchmarking and industry research and employment trends, tracking legislation, and make recommendations.
  • Additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned

    Requirements:

    Qualifications:
  • 7-10 years of experience in Benefits roles with expertise in CT/NY employment laws, progressive growth and practical experience managing compensation, equity, and benefits programs, preferably in a multi-state environment with multiple entities, office locations, and divisions.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), Certified Equity Professional (CEP), and/or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) certification is preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of State and Federal wage and hour laws, including FLSA, all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing, and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending affecting compensation and benefits programs, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, Workers Compensation, Medicare, HIPAA, and social security and DOL requirements.
  • Proven track record of developing, managing, and evaluating various components of incentive plans
  • Demonstrated understanding of how to evaluate, design, implement, and administer health benefits, retirement plans, leaves of absence, accommodations, workers' compensation, and wellness programs throughout the US. International experience is a plus.
  • An understanding of how to account for diversity, equity, and inclusion when making total rewards recommendations.

Compensation:
Compensation for the role includes a competitive salary in the range from $160,000 -$250,000 (inclusive of a merit-based bonus, dependent on years of experience, level of education obtained, as well as applicable skillset) and an excellent benefits package, including a comprehensive employer-paid medical plan and generous employer match for 401k.
