Job Description:

Our client, a publicly-traded and rapidly growing organization, is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join their team.

  • Work with Payroll Manager to maintain, prepare, and process weekly payroll for multiple locations and entities.
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and utilizing available canned reports.
  • Review time and attendance records to ensure accuracy and confirm requisite approvals have been completed by operational managers and/or Human Resources representative.
  • Ensures all correspondence pertaining to wage garnishments, liens, and income withholding orders are submitted to Ceridian and then monitored through payroll.
  • Maintains positive customer service for all related payroll problems, questions, and concerns. To include research and resolution expectation management and communication.
  • Adheres to strict corporate guidelines regarding confidentiality of all Human Resource and Payroll related information.

  • Assist with resolving issues and inquiries from plan participants regarding health and welfare benefits including claims and deductions.
  • Explain benefits to plan participants in easy-to-understand terms in order to educate each on available options.
  • Provide vendors with the necessary information to ensure the timely processing of claims including life insurance, short-term disability, and paid family leave.
  • Assist with confirming accuracy of employee enrollments.
  • Assist with open enrollments


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years prior experience processing payroll, preferably with Ceridian Dayforce
  • 2-3 years’ experience in benefit administration
  • Working knowledge of payroll best practices
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations
  • Organizational skills, ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, and detail orientation are also required.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and internet use
  • Familiarity with CA law is a plus
