Senior Director of Residential Services

Our client, a private, not-for-profit organization dedicated to educating, assisting, and supporting individuals with persistent mental illness and substance use disorders, is seeking a Senior Director of Residential Services to join their team.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000 Annually
$3,000 - $5,000 Sign-On Bonus (25% in first paycheck, 75% after completing new-hire probationary period)!
Schedule: Full Time; Flexibility required to support all shifts

The Senior Director of Residential Services is responsible for the overall management of residential programs, including, but not limited to, quality programming, compliance, fiscal management, staff supervision, and physical program inspection. This role also collaborates with teams across the agency to uphold and exemplify the agency’s mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage all aspects of the residential programs to meet quality measures set by the agency, the State, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborate with program leaders to ensure ongoing support to all Persons Served (PS) involved in receiving the highest quality of experience and treatment.
  • Ensure exemplary, innovative, and best practice services that exceed our clients' expectations.
  • referrals, visit referrals from higher levels of care, and clinically assess for program appropriateness.
  • Conduct intakes for residential program persons served and prepare clinical case presentations for employees in preparation for admissions, team meetings, and discharge planning.
  • Monitors program census and employee productivity in collaboration with program leadership; ensures Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are communicated, understood, and incorporated throughout programming to meet agency standards at a minimum.
  • Responsible for creating and executing the Manager-On-Call (MOC) schedule and being the administrative lead of the residential call list system.


    Collaboration:
  • Work with the Clinical Director of Community Programs to develop skill-based PS daytime and evening programming based on PS needs.
  • Work with the Clinical Director of Community Programs, the Director of Outpatient Services, and the medication services nursing team to provide clinical/medical guidance and training to the employees and clinical/medical support to the PS.
    o Participation in system of care meetings with DMHAS, SMHA and area providers to manage and determine best practices, bed utilization, risk review, vacancies, admissions, and discharges.
  • Model motivational interviewing, crisis prevention & intervention, and other techniques to enhance the success of PS recovery.
  • Effectively communicate with funding sources, internal and external referral sources, and represent the agency in a positive collaborative manner.
  • Develop and implement treatment modalities and provide training, observation, and feedback to programs.
  • Ability to effectively provide employee feedback that is specific, timely, purposeful, tactful, and ongoing, preparing employees for professional growth.
  • Facilitate one-to-one supervision of direct reports, team meetings, employee performance evaluations, etc., and ensure direct reporting staff do the same with their teams according to policy.
  • Manage, train, and supervise employees to provide the highest level of client care, treatment, and effective documentation of services, as required.
  • Develop and oversee processes or procedures including but not limited to intakes, treatment planning, utilization review, discharge planning, and crisis intervention.
  • Oversee efficient operations of programs including but not limited to building/office maintenance, drills, vehicle maintenance, and overall adherence to program budgets.
  • Competent user of the Electronic Health Record (EHR), including the ability to train and act as a Super User.
  • Works in harmony with clinical services to ensure continuity of care.
  • Participates in various committees and team meetings within the agency
  • Complete other tasks as assigned.

    Requirements:

    Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in Behavioral Health Science
  • CT LCSW or LPC licensure required
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in residential behavioral health and/or addiction services
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience supervising others in a residential setting
  • Understanding of various clinical models of care and treatment, as well as display an understanding in utilization review
  • Knowledge of program development and CARF experience a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must be a competent user of technology, including e-mail, agency intranet, and the electronic health record
  • Ability to create and maintain an appropriate and effective work environment
  • Active and current driver's license
  • CPR/First Aid certified or eligible.
