Job Description:

Large Financial Institution looking to hire a temp to perm Supervisor for Bank Adjustments Operations located in Bridgeport, CT
Starting ASAP and will go Temp-to-Perm. Our client, located in Bridgeport, CT, is seeking a supervisor to join their team in a temporary to permanent role. After a period of about 3 months, if the assignment is going well, the client will convert the temp to a permanent employee.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises a staff that performs adjustment functions for the Operations Division
  • Oversees the investigation and resolution of transactional errors to customers to mitigate risk and fraud while ensuring federal regulations are adhered to
  • This position ensures the effective oversight of adjustments and POD control operations for the organization. Failure within these critical functions would result in loss, penalties, additional regulatory oversight and risk to the organizations reputation
  • Supervises the daily operations functions of the Adjustment and Proof Of Deposit Control Department
  • Monitors the day to day activities of staff to ensure compliance to internal policy, legal and FDIC regulations by participating in the establishment of and performing the monitoring and audit of internal policy and procedures
  • Administers a department’s functions ensuring compliance to the organization’s policy, legal and government rules and regulations by establishing, monitoring and maintaining, policies and procedure
  • Monitors and measures all productivity standards and holds staff accountable to meet these standards. Frequently reviews standards with management to ensure standards are met
  • Monitors the investigation and resolution of errors related to erroneous and/or fraudulent transactions related to debit card, ATMs, checks and bank accounts involving, but not limited to Regulation E and Regulation CC requirements
  • Serves as contact to Federal Reserve and correspondent banks and merchants nationally
  • Responsible for managing the investigations involving the most complex error resolutions for all types of POD Control categories – including: Cash, Savings, Certificate of Deposits, Checking and Teller Correction Notice (TCNs) or any other major categories affecting customer accounts, while overseeing that established policies and procedures are being adhered to
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of existing processes. Identifies opportunities to optimize efficiency. Develops and implements operational procedures and systems utilization to support the division’s long-term strategy
  • Exercises the usual authority of a Supervisor concerning performance improvement plans and reviews, promotions, hiring, salary recommendations and terminations
  • Coaches, develops and inspires staff to maximize their potential
  • Directs the preparation of business plans and goals for the units
  • Oversees the management of departmental productivity and quality standards
  • Participates in department strategic planning

Requirements:

  • College degree or equivalent 2-5 years of relevant work experience required
  • Excellent analytical and research skills with a demonstrated ability to manage projects from inception through completion
  • Excellent ability to inform, educate and influence employees to support corporate goals and objectives
  • Excellent ability to provide feedback in a manner that supports employee development
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills are needed to communicate complex information to a broad range of internal and external contacts
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate opportunities for process improvement and manage the implementation of any changes using technology in a highly effective and efficient manner
