Job Description:

BACKGROUND:

Our client, a non-profit in Greenwich, CT, is currently seeking a Marketing and Communications Manager with such a role focusing on two main aspects: Development and Marketing/Communications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Development and Fundraising

This person will lead the company’s development strategy and eventual implementation of such a strategy. The ideal candidate will help raise money and steward donors from initial engagement through solicitation to reporting on outcomes. This candidate will create outreach campaigns, research prospects, engage active donors, write grant proposals and manage fundraising events. The Marketing and Communications Manager will collaborate with the President and Chief Operating Officer on the company’s overall strategy and in regards to outreach to foundations, corporations and individual donors while overseeing follow-up for these opportunities as well. This person will also coordinate and plan events throughout the year.

Marketing and Communications

The Marketing and Communications Manager will define how this non-profit is presented to its stakeholders and constituents, ensuring that there is growing interest in funding or participating in its programs. From advising the President on presentations for a major donor to ensuring the language on all communications is consistent and compelling, the ideal candidate will be responsible for the company’s messaging across all platforms and materials. Areas of responsibility will include, a website, brochures, pitch materials and presentations, social media, email marketing, editorial blogs and newsletters, press and media relations, marketing videos and an annual report. The ability to create marketing materials and presentations using multiple software programs, edit photos, drive search engine optimization and post across various social media platforms is essential to this role.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5-to-8 years of relevant work experience
  • Previous non-profit or social enterprise experience a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software
  • Familiarity with design software (i.e. Adobe InDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop and Illustrator)
