Data Base Manager

Job Description:

Large Bridgeport, CT based Nonprofit is looking to hire a temporary part time Database Manager. This person needs to be good with Excel and have some database management skills and knowledge of HTML and .css. Length of the assignment is ASAP until February 2020 or March 2020. Hours from now until early December would be 30 hours, then reduced to maybe 25 hours but would depend on the needs.

The Database Manager will report to the CFO and support all the key functional areas. The Database Manager will be expert in the use of the donor and constituent management system: Andar 360. This person will build data structures, security, and web pages using Andar 360 web modules to support online donation, event registration and mobile texting. This person will develop tools to support direct mail appeals, donation acknowledgment, ad hoc reporting and proper data management.

  • Key tasks and responsibilities:
  • Andar 360 database management
  • Establish routines for continual improvement of data integrity
  • Develop repeatable methods for importing data into Andar 360, including workplace campaign results and new constituents
  • Manage campaign, designation and volunteer opportunity structures
  • Maintain database table structure
  • Maintain user security
  • Donation acknowledgements
  • Work closely with Finance and R.D. staff to meet CRM needs
  • Develop HTML acknowledgement templates for specific donation types to support automated generation of thank you letters
  • Develop tools and processes to ensure all donations are acknowledged in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Direct mail and other R.D. appeals
  • Work with RD and Marketing and Communications team to develop appeal requirements, including prospect criteria, pre- and post-mailing reports, and schedule
  • Develop tools for reporting and analysis of direct mail appeals

Requirements:

  • Must have strong MS Excel and some database management skills and knowledgeable with HTML and .css.
  • Expertise with relational databases; experience with Andar 360 desirable
  • Experience with front end web development tools including: HTML, XML, and Javascript or using a GUI design software
  • Ability to extract and manipulate data, analyze data and prepare reports
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Effective communication with donors and other constituents
  • Strong ability to interact effectively with all members of staff
  • Strong ability to initiate, plan, and manage projects
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of the mission, strategic direction, operating practices, structure and decision making processes
